I took this during my lunch hour yesterday. I came across a family of ducks in a fountain in Lafayette Park, directly across from the White House in Washington, DC. I only noticed as I was going to upload the photo that the mother duck only has one leg.

The mother duck probably actually has two legs, they pull one up from time to time to warm it next to their body. Especially if the water is cold. We raised ducks when I was a kid ...
