Oh, you are back!!! GREAT!!! Have been missing you and your night shots. What about our Japanese friend?? Can you contact him, David?
A few days ago we had a nice midnight sky, but I was too tired to take any pictures. Otherwise it has been a cold, wet and horrible spring so far. And now the bright nights have begun ever so slowly.
Have a good time and brilliant observing conditions! hugs, ERwin ▼

Hahaha! That's great, ERwin.
I've been out trying to take a pic, but not nearly as good as this.
I went to the settings page, everything was OK, so I clicked on 'save' - maybe that did the trick.
Sorry I've been so inactive recently.
Still rather cold here, but perhaps the arrival of spring will mean better weather. ▼

So that's Jupiter and Venus on the right, in case you were wondering. The constellation of Taurus is in the centre, with bright star Aldebaran, and the familiar shape of Orion on the left. ▼

Great picture, David! Venus has been so lovely to see wtih its crescent during the last days. I wish, I could have taken a picure of it, but I cannot photograph through my binoculars.
The transit of Venus is spectacular! I watched the one in 2006 (?) and got some very nice pictures of it, projecting the sun on a piece of cardboard.
The last night up here have been clear, but only around true midnight (1.25 a.m.) it is dark enough to see some stars, like Scorpio coming over the horizon with beautiful Aldebaran.
Have a nice Pentecost, David!
