Abe has been managing Avignone for as long as I can remember now maybe 20 years. It became part of the Love Store chain for a while, but thats gone now and its back to being the neighborhood pharmacy. There is a CVS not far away on Sixth Avenue and although it has a lot more stuff, I try to do all the drug store-type shopping I can here because I like Abe and I like that he hires local kids to work behind the counter. The employees at CVS have no stake in the neighborhood.
Harvey runs the pharmacy in the back and keeps good track of your legal drugs. I like how he always tells me what its going to cost before he counts out the pills and when a brand is expensive, suggests that he call my doctor to see if a generic will do the job. Theres not much of this kind of personal stuff in the big city anymore.

Hi ! Nice to see you post again. This pharmacy sounds like it has great personal service. What a breath of fresh air when you compare it with those big chains like Duane Reade, Rite-Aid and CVS, eh?

Glad to see you have not given up on your project. Also glad to see you managed to capture 2 shoplifters as they split the loot.

I think we a law nowadays (for about 1-2 years), which orders (force) the pharmacist to tell the customer if there are some other cheaper generic pills, compared to those the medical doctor has prescribed

War is the plague that human beings bring upon themselves. It is also a plague we might be able to end. On any given day since you and I were born, some part of the world has been at warin 2003 the total number of open conflicts was thirty. In the twentieth century at least 108 million people died in wars. Of the 20 largest military budgets on earth, 14 belong to developing countries. The United States spends more on its military than the next 16 countries combined
