I love going to open houses sometimes because you get to see a lot of beautiful houses you normally wouldn`t get to see. This one was a craftsman beauty--you can see the built-ins in the dining room, but for some reason the photo of the beautiful fireplace didn`t come out--not a Batchelder, unfinished stone, i think, stone bricks, but very intricate, and unusual, and beautiful. There were built-ins everywhere. The place has been kept beautifully (note the cherry-colored inlay in the floors), but I overheard the agent saying the foundation needed a lot of work. It`s a 3-bedroom, 1.5 bath. They`re asking $629,000; there were a *lot* of people looking. Perhaps it will sell for $100,000 more than that?

is that what going to openhouses is like for you? For me its getting the opportunity to tour homes I wouldnt necessarily get a chance to like historical city tours, or garden tours. Only its free. Great for the architecture buff.....

it`s at 1770 sonoma, i think. i`ll post the selling price when they post it. it was very, what`s the word they`re using now? when someone comes in and fixes it up? --oh yeah--it was very staged. strategic placement of throw rugs on the bad patches. i mean--just look at that dining room table and how it`s set!!

Beautiful. I love those Berkeley built-in cabinets. This looks like an open house I went to a few years ago, where the doorway to the left was a good six inches lower than the far side of the room. Needed serious floor and foundation work, and anyway Icouldn`t afford it.
