Dieciséis horas después de que la Guardia Civil apresara a los lesakarras Mattin Sarasola e Igor Portu, este último ingresaba en la U.C.I. del hospital Donostia con un parte médico de gravedad. El joven presentaba un pulmón perforado, una costilla rota, hemorragia en un ojo y hematomas por todo el cuerpo. La versión oficial llegó de la mano de Rubalcaba, que no hizo sino arrojar más dudas en torno a lo acontecido en el transcurso de la incomunicación.
