1. Constancy of purpose
Dr. Deming tells us that it is better to keep your business and give work to the people by means of innovation, investigation and the constant improvement rather than making money.

2. The new philosophy
Today it is very normal to have workers that give bad service and are very negative Dr. Deming suggests that every worker in the company should adapt the new philosophy and become more profesional and competitive.

3. Cease dependence on mass inspection
Every company inspect the product when they have produce it or in the middle of the process and they reject the unaceptable products. Dr. Deming thinks that the company is paying workers to make a bad product and then repair it. He wants to tell that quality doesn't come from rhe inspection but on the well done work.

4. End lowest tender contracts

The purchasing department of the company tries to buy as cheap as possible, this doesn't mean that the product they buy is the best, Deming suggests us that it is better to think in a long term relationship and allways buy the same product to the same seller.

5. Improve every process
Administration must try to improve quality instead of trying to reduce bad product all the time.

6. Institute training on the job
When one worker starts in a company it is quite often trained by another worker that hasent had a good training, becouse of this a lot of workers hasent a good knowledge of his work and can not make his work properly.

7. Institute leadership
The supervisor must not punish and tell the worker what to do, but to show and teach him how to do work properly.

8. Drive out fear

Many workes are afraid of making questions even when they are not sure, but if the donts ask the questions they will continue making mistakes and working badly.

9. Break down barriers
sometimes in the company the diferent departments fight one againts the other instead of trying to get the best for all of them. They dont behave as a team but as rivals.


10. Eliminate exhortations

Deming thinks that the money some companies spend in making exhortations is a waste of time becouse they dont improve the quality. It is better to make a good study of the custommers needs.

11. Eliminate arbitrary numerical targets

Eliminate work standards that prescribe quotas for the work force and numerical goals for people in management. Substitute aids and helpful leadership in order to achieve continual improvement of quality and productivity. \t

12. Permit pride of workmanship
People normaly wants to do well his job, but sometimes bad supervisors, bad tools and bad materials make imposible to make a good work.

13. Encourage education

Deming thinks that the company should have a program of education, and encourage self improvement for everyone. What an organization needs is not just good people; it needs people that are improving with education. \t \t \t

14. Top management commitment and action
Management must commit to improve quality and productivity and should implement this principles in the company.
They should create a structure in top management that will push every day on the preceding 13 Points, and take action in order to accomplish the transformation. Support is not enough: action is required!
