Durante años sólo pude soltar "Crush" desde un recopilatorio titulado Classic Works Of Mart Vol. 1 dedicado a DJ Premier y sus producciones. No estaba mal, aunque que la versión de "Crush" que aparecía fuera la censurada me sacaba de quicio.
Tres veces he comprado el 12" de "Crush". Las dos primeras se "perdió" en el correo. El puto disco estaba maldito. Pero hace un par de meses llegó con otro par de amigos bastante bien relacionados, uno viejo 12" de Jeru y otro de Blahzay Blahzay. No podía ser más apropiado.
Ahora me lo flipo diciendo frases como:
"...torch niggas and burn!!"
"...this shit is fakeness!!"
"...rattle any snake muthafucka who wish to battle!!"
"...keepin' your dick hard, while pussies wanna tiptoe!!"
Y como siempre, coréo a Inspectah Deck en "Crush the amateurs who scream they keep it real..." y a Lin Que en "...to every hardcore that you hit the hard floor!!!".
Brutal.
Sin duda uno de mis temas favoritos de la puta historia del verdadero hip-hop de los 90.
