I'm back!
I took a week off work to recover from mental exhaustion after directing a tv commercial for Led Zeppelin (it's that black, red, and white one that looks like a whole Shepard Fairey world. If you live in the UK it's gonna be on tv in one of the commercial breaks during Return Of The Jedi this Sunday)
And then spent three of my free days painting in the streets, quite big pieces, so now I'm physically exhausted too!
This is the first one I made, and the biggest. Kind of a legal spot (someone had permission to paint it - that someone just didn't happen to be me ;-)
The wall was horrible. One third was bricks, the rest smooth, but on the smooth section the paint already on the wall would stick to the roller and peel off. one step forwards two steps back. but whatever - I painted a massive long wall in one day, and the locals even brought me tea and biscuits!! Now that's getting over ;-)
But if one more person asks me if I'm Banksy, I swear I'm gonna punch their lights out!!!
And the Banksy photo in the paper recently, that was a fake. I passed that spot when he was painting, and the scaffolding was covered in plastic sheets, no way anyone could get a photo. they just got one of their friends to take a photo of another friend to create a buzz and get in the newspaper. it wasn't even an illegal piece, he had permission. the newspapers are suckers. the older I get, the less I believe the shit written in the papers, they'll write any old crap, whatever people tell them, without a scrap of evidence. don't believe the hype kids! still, top marks Robin for getting on the front page of the Times!!! though I was more stoked to see the piece in East End Life, the local free paper!
Gonna go make some soup, I'll post a better photo of this later - just like the way this one looks like "street art meets Jack the Ripper"
