There is no such thing as friendship. Why?
Because we are humans. Its in our blood to be egocentrics. Robots can be friends, because they dont have feelings. When another robot asks for help, the other one will not think of what he will get in return (mainly because they don't posses a brain), so he will give his iron hand. Cheers to evolution!

well...firstly mister Great Breast Phylosopher...a true phylosopher isn't one that writes books and comments on different aspects of life and shouts his opinions out loud. phylosophy will never be official.someone's life can be "as easy" as that and also be a phylosopher by having a pure spiritual life and by having his very own ideas of life...slightly influenced by others'.
secondly,do you really think your opinion is that original? do you really think you are the first person to say that? well...newsflash: you're not!
and yes, your ideas are interesting but maybe you're wrong. maybe you just haven't met the real true unabashed frienship.
OR maybe you've been too busy to write it doesn't exist...to notice it.
perhaps, since you're such a great phylosopher, you ought to know that friendship doesn't get materialized in it's traditional definition. it can be anyway...you just have to start looking deeper.

You didn't get the point little girl. If you'd had read between the quotes you would have understood what my opinion was.
I'll explain it to you :
There is no such thing as true friendship and to prove my point I selected some quotes and I commented them.
The quotes are positive, my comments are negative. My opinion is that those quotes are just stupid fluffy things about the so called true friendship.
Oh and by the way:

He was no philosopher. Perhaps he was trying to grab some attention with some "witty" sentences.
And again, George Washington was surely not a philosopher.
The only one that was a philosopher is Epicurus, who believed that to achieve rational happiness you must abstain from any activity. That means that you just have to stay, and stay, and stay . . . .
So you have seen my opinion.

well those are the opinions of old philosophers.they date back when respect and altruism were not such bad things. friendship is different now because we are different.don't you have an opinion of your own?:)
